Interesting troll attempt.

Even reasonable bama fans acknowledge that he’s a top 5-10 coach in the nation.

He’s already beaten bama and won the west with a roster that he had to duct tape together. Even this year with a depleted defense he’s a tipped pass interception and a dropped pass away from beating you in your stadium.

Keep in mind the situation he walked into here.

If you really believe that nobody else would pay him market value you’re a fool.

Having said that, he’s got no interest in leaving LSU. Coaches don’t leave LSU to take other college jobs.

This is simply another attempt by an opposing writer to get clicks bc he’s knows his program is absolutely fricked

This is pathetic even by Liucci's standards.

what is with this narrative from LSU Fans that Kelly walked into a complete rebuild?

Yall act like it was SMU post death penalty or something. Let's see Kelly's offense next year without Daniels.

Watch the Texas Bowl against K-State if you need a clear picture of Kelly’s starting point. 39 scholarship players and backup WR playing QB.

Kelly did have a significantly harder starting point for a rebuild. He was aided by the open transfer rules to put together a solid team in year one, but he still had to rebuild a dumpster fire. It was worse talent wise than the 1999 LSU team left for Saban in 2000.

It’s like the opposite of Bama fans acting like Saban was a miracle worker in 2007 and 2008. He took over a team that was 13 points from an undefeated season just 2 years earlier.

Again, he had some advantages with new transfer rules, but it was still a tough rebuild.

I have a much better idea of where the program was when Kelly took over than you do, clearly. I don't know why you'd try to pretend otherwise.

LSU recruiting class rankings before Kelly got there:
2021 - #3
2020 - #4
2019 - #5
2018 - #15
2017 - #7

yes, you had some transfer out, but that's not a rebuild in any sense of the term.

Some transfer out? Go through those classes and tell me which guys were here when BK took over? Your basing your opinion on an outsiders perspective. You are ignorant of the facts. I wouldn't pretend to know about what's going on at a&m. Don't come on here pretending you have a better idea of where Lsu was when Kelly took over than folks who actually follow the program.

Six players from that 2020 class and three players from the 2019 class were on the roster last season. That's 9 total upper-classmen from recruiting class. I'm not even counting if they were contributors or not. It looks even worse.

I take it you believe that is extraordinary? Maybe look at others and see if they have attrition also.

So most new HCs step into a program with 39 scholarship players?

so what is it? You cite recruiting classes of players who aren't even playing for Kelly to prove he didn't have a tough rebuild and now it's about other programs?

Move on. You have no idea what you're talking about.

No, you just can’t read or comprehend.

Kelly didn’t walk into a rebuild. LSU was not in some horrific state of no players in the program and wasn’t experiencing attrition at levels beyond anyone else when he got there.
