LOL, some of you are so weird....It's not enough that you be happy with the guy you hired, you're so insecure about it that you create a narrative in your own mind that you somehow "stole" him from a rival team, when he LITERALLY wasn't even on the radar of said team...Nobody, and I do mean NO-FCKIN-BODY from the Gator camp was fiending for Brian Kelly...He's a good coach, you should be happy, but he wasn't the right fit and he wasn't what we were looking for.

He and Riley share an agent. That agent sent feelers out to top gigs letting them know they may be open to a proposal.

There's a detail that matters here to give some insight into these searches and some of the twists and turns...

A marketing firm, not an agent or Kelly himself, contacted UF to let them know he was interested in talking if they were interested.

Same marketing firm contacted Scott (or Rempe).

I'll concede that Nape probably wanted LSU more, that's been documented...The Gator Nation has wanted Billy Napier since the South Carolina game, he was the overwhelming consensus choice amongst the fanbase, I assure you...I honestly do not care whether or not he was on LSU's radar (It's better for us that he wasn't) because he's coming to Gainesville...LSU fans shouldn't give one single fck whether or not Kelly eyed the Florida job first, it's irrelevant, he's in Baton Rouge...I see absolutely no reason we can't all just be happy we got our guy instead of this childish need for a big ol' pat on the back.
