They could go for Hud but they should have an option to take over after he flames out in 3 years. He would certainly energize the fan base and the current players though.

I'd have a hard time getting fired up getting a coach fired by ULL

He’s on Jay’s show. Just said he’s staying. Would make him a pretty big villain if he changed his mind now

He is going to bigger and better things, you actually think he is worried about burning that tiny little bridge to that tiny little school? Not hardly

Things are going well here, I’m on the up, they just gave me a big new contract that I signed, I don’t want to leave like this at this time, I don’t need to take just any job, I’ll get a better power 5 job in a couple years.

They'll end up making an Arkansas type hire.

Look I’m not even saying he definitely won’t go because I’m not naive to the power of the almighty dollar. I’m just saying, he can go to a much better situation if he’s patient. Once again, we should have a very good team next year. He wins another 10-12 games next year and Muschamp gets the boot, he could walk into a nice situation at SCar in the SEC East.

Ross Dellenger chimed in:

Not that you would doubt Brett's reporting, but Billy Napier has indeed told those close to him that he has no interest in the Mississippi State head coaching job. Onward, the search goes...

AKA, “Why would I go to that no-win situation when I have a legit shot to win 11-12 games next season, have a program that hasn’t sniffed Top 25 actually be ranked, and can then take the South Carolina job or another similar job where I have a chance to succeed and not be given nearly 4 guaranteed losses every year?”
