to say you don't understand why people think Briles is a good offensive coach is either naïve or dishonest

Definitely not being dishonest, so must be naive. I just haven't been impressed with his offenses at Arkansas and think a lot of why he gets mentioned is because Briles is his last name.

Personally, I don’t know CBK well enough to know for sure but he may be too brash and egotistical as a mentor. Coach E seems to be the perfect personality to be a mentor.
I choose E.

Will be interested to see if Brady really is any good or if Burrow, Jefferson, Clyde, and Chase are just king makers.

Kelly seems to have done well bringing 27 year old first time coordinator Tommy Rees along.

My point wasn't to solicit people to pick who was a better mentor between E and Kelly. It was to suggest that Brady with someone mentoring him could be a great coordinator.

Was the OC in 2015 and had the #1 offense things went to shite in 2016 but after that is where is gets interesting.

In 2017 he is the OC for FAU and gets them to #8 from 80th

In 2018 he is the OC for Houston and takes them from 65th to 5th

2019 is sorta a waisted year. He did improve FSU but apparently Taggart fricked with the offense.

2020 he takes over the 112th ranked scoring offense at Arkansas and 2 years later has them 43rd overall with a severely limited QB.

Overall he does a very good job quickly
Turning offenses around and with a little talent he can score a frick ton of points.

Dont want briles near our offense. Anybody that knows anything about football can look back for the last four years and see that he is not a great offensive coordinator. I am not saying that Brady is the answer but I would damn sure take Brady over browse

Thisnis based on what? A bad year at FSU? Not instantly making Arkansas a top 10 offense?

Try and articulate your point buddy.

I mean I watched him have a pretty decent offense with a very limited QB.

And 4 years ago his Houston offense was awesome

Briles to me seems very vanilla.

It's almost like he will run the same plays over and over again and just try to run tempo.

He was hampered a little by the O-line which does not move very well. As Pittman improves the O-line, it should open his offense up more.

Arkansas was ranked 30th nationally this year. That is pretty good. After watching Arkansas play LSU I was not impressed with Briles. It seems that every game that I have watched when Briles was offensive coordinator the team struggled. I remember with Felipe franks how he was running the same play over and over against Texas A&M in the 2020 season. He may do well with the athletes that LSU has but it seems that he would’ve landed a head-coaching job by now

I mean, isn't that exactly what the Carolina Panthers thought? How'd that go?

Brady's going to Miami.

Congrats to Joe. That was a little unexpected.

Kendall Briles might be a great one if BK can get him away from Arkansas.

maybe Briles can do more with better talent, but i wasn't impressed with the games i watched this year.

And i never liked Bradys system, spread them out and hope one guy beats his man? Half the time no Rb in the back field to even make LBs check before going in pass coverage. hard pass.

Oh, then why not apply for the OC job? Maybe you can do a better job than them!

Everyone against the Brady hire either spends too much time caught in the negativity here or listen to too much sports talk radio(ie, Scott Woodward messaging board). Most were ready to give him $12M/yr as HC 2 weeks ago.
I watched it with y’all with Kelly the board went from “meh” on Kelly to literally worshiping the dude minutes after he was hired.
I get adjusting your expectations to reality, but over half of you saying “it really more Ensminger” was not saying anything like that 2 years ago, absolutely nothing like that. What’s happened in the meantime, well he failed in the NFL like 78% of coaches who enter the nfl. And sports talk radio has you convinced 2019 was every single person except the guy who got the biggest coordinator money in NFL history as a result.

Fact... Ensminger has never experienced an inkling of success like he did in the one year Brady won the Broyles award. Ensminger had Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, and CEH, but still managed to make them all mediocre. Ensminger is nothing and was always nothing, as it relates to being an OC. Wonder why not one NFL or College team made any type of run at Ensminger. These comments about Brady needing Ensminger are embarrassing. Brady did it all at LSU and was rewarded with a shite show at Carolina. Nick sucked in the NFL, so maybe someone should get him a mentor quickly.
