I wouldn't say he's on bad terms with Bama. He wasn't meant to be here long, just until his image is rehabilitated and he gets a new HC opportunity. It was a great trade off.
Saban likely hired Sark knowing this was a possibility.

I personally think changing before the playoff would help Bama. Not that Sark is or isn't a better coordinator than kiffin, just that he is a different
With different coordinators come different offensive wrinkles, things other teams won't know to expect, they can only plan for a kiffin offense and what they know from sark at Washington and USC. Whether or not it's more successful in the long term we don't know of course but in the short term I see it as a possible advantage heading into the playoff. Sark won't be able to re-invent the wheel in that time but he can do enough to keep playoff opponents unsure. Plus when in doubt, he can just call a run
It is not rare for even bad coordinators to come in and have early initial success, when there is no familiarity with them when it comes to their new team, especially on offense. We already know Sark is no slouch

I think he plays a bigger role than you might think.
Looking at his role as recruiter, the only ones he likely played a big role in landing are Eliot Baker and Blake Barnett. The rest of the guys he was either secondary or they would have landed at Bama if Mickey Mouse recruited them.

Lane is the 11th highest rated recruiter in the country this year.

No way he doesn't Coach the Playoff. That could definitely hurt their chances.
Saban doesn't think that way and let's face it, it has been the defenses that have won the games for Bama until the offense eventually scores. Saban will not worry about Kiffin leaving especially with Sark on the payroll.

Look at his commitments. How many is he primary for that would not have come to Bama without his recruiting prowess? Maybe Eliot Baker (assuming he stays committed). The rest are in-state kids who have been dreaming of playing at Alabama since forever.

I'm surprised Saban hasn't gone totally ape shite on LSU and Kiffin. Tampering with his offensive coordinator AND his prize qb recruit? Not that the little bastard doesn't deserve it.
How long before Saban blows up?

Bama will continue to recruit without Lane. I couldn't care less about that.
What I care about is what Lane can bring to LSU. His recruiting experience outweighs anyone else we can put at that position.
It's funny, Bama posters have always talked about Kiffin being a great recruiter, and now all of the sudden he's not?

I'm posting about what he did at Alabama, which, admittedly, wasn't what we expected it to be when he was first hired. Not saying he couldn't be that for LSU, just that he wasn't tGOAT recruiter at Bama.

Any chance Saban fires him on the tarmac?

What he did at Tennessee and USC was pretty amazing. He was known as one of the best recruiting coaches in football before Bama. And this year he's a very highly rated recruiter at Bama.
If you want to say he's not that great of a coordinator, OK. But that guy has proven to be a great recruiter.

Saban has probably wanted Kiffin less involved in recruiting last 12 months at least knowing this was coming
Posted on 11/30/16 at 9:23 pm to Ssubba
Kiffin will tell Saban f u. And leave after this Saturday's game. Ha ha. Saban the midget can go frick himself
