Spurrier to A&M in 07 was MUCH closer than anyone is willing to believe. I've heard that from people I trust to this day.

Ive hears varying degrees of the story. One goes as far as to say Spurrier was in College Station when it was announced Shermsn was hired and it really pissed off Darth Visor.
That kind of shite will happen though when you have boosters, an AD and the BoR all jockeying for their guy.
