I dont think so but I wouldnt be surprised if he contacted us to get a raise at some point from OU.

Bob Stoops makes 5 million dollars per at a program he has built and is a perennial contender for a national championship. He's not going to A&M.

If I'm OU's AD I sit him down and watch the OSU game with him. Then I kindly ask him to explain how that happened, and then deny him a raise.

He could also watch the Baylor and Texas Tech games while he was at it.

The ***ONLY*** way this has legs is if OU is indifferent toward losing him.....At least some OU people are likely unhappy with the recent (relative) failures of the last few seasons. Kind of like how some at Texas are unhappy with Mack right now.

I put the odds at 1%...but just saying...

Texas A&M is in a different situation than we were 4 years ago. Stoops could see it a unique opportunity to play in the SEC with a recruiting ground he knows quite well.

but still, yea, longshot.

Ironically, it is similar to OU when Blake was fired.....Stoops had immediate success due to stellar recruiting classes from Blake. Sherman had progressively better recruiting classes, topped off by our 2012 class (assuming we keep or even add to it).....but like Blake, he wasn't "it".

Reggie Herring took the A&M DC job under Sherman, and left a few days later when he realized that a career killer the job was due to the pile of crap that Francakes left us with. Yes, it was THAT bad.

Now, it's a very different situation. This isn't more than a 6-7 win team next season, but with the right coach there is enough of a foundation for said coach to win relatively quickly.

If he didn't pull the trigger for Notre Dame or Florida, I doubt he will for A&M.

Maybe Stoops will keep his house in Norman and take the job anyway.....kind of like how your Saints coach chooses to live in Dallas, home of Americas Team, instead of N.O.

lol.

Stoops has a massive deal at OU that goes through 2018.

He just built a million dollar home in Norman. Good luck breaking even on a sale in this market.

Sorry but this is ridiculous.

Mary Kay Factor

Tha "Mary Kay" factor was the main reason that Stoops never left Norman after all these years. Check out the link on his wife. She maks pretty good bank as a Mary Kay saleswoman in Norman. Not really apples to apples in the College Football coaching business, but its pretty good.
