Is this rule only in the sec? Christ almighty this and Freeze is there any other conference that does this shite? I literally can't think of hearing a coach couldn't go to another university in Pac Big 10 or ACC

I heard LSU wanted him, but with the Title IX issue looming they didn't want someone with a previous show cause on the staff. My guess is if there was no Title IX issue he would already be coming home to LSU

Title IX and the show cause stuff is two separate issues
The hold back would be from not wanting to piss off the NCAA by hiring Davis in the middle of an investigation about the whole Boaster/OLOL scandal
I think a lot of people lump those two things into the same pot when they are separate issues

Nick isn’t helping anyone fill a Staff? Especially Texas.... Texas has the recruiting base and resources to actually compete for NC. Nick may not have to play them every year but it would be a little harder to win a NC every year. They would get strong recruits which would likely take away from many of the top sec programs including Bama. Also their conference is easier and have an easier path to playoffs.

Tried, we were his top option, but SEC refused to expunge his record of cheating on the recruiting trail and we were told explicitly we couldn’t take him. Considering all the Will Wade stuff and the Title IX fiasco, Woodward wasn’t willing to push the issue. So now Freeman (or whoever we hire) will pick his own man

I understand they are separate issues, wasn't trying to insinuate that they are the same, I just meant I think we have enough issues with the Title IX, that they don't want to hire someone who once had a show cause, but according to Vol sounds like the NCAA or SEC stepped in and told us no.
