hell thats a plus in my book. UNC, Bama, Ole Miss et al have all proven the NCAA has no teeth. Personally, I think we should ramp up the cheating.

well the SEC office is less than an hour from bryant-denny and full of bama grads, and the head of the NCAA is the guy who brought saban to LSU, so obviously those two arent gonna do shite to bama. but other than that i agree, and its one reason i like O.

you think he'll voluntarily test the players for weed like Miles did or wait until the NCAA forces him too like saban and urban do?

the only reason bama wins as much as they do is because they have an overwhelming amount of pure talent, and they have that because the REC buys the best players. we cant be as dumb as Ole Miss was, but it would be nice to be on a level field for once.

Kiffin coming to LSU is something that would give LSU fans hope for a better offensive output and so they're clinging to the possibility of it happening, regardless of how remote that possibility is. Human nature, bruh.
Kiffin just got a raise from $714,000 to 1.4M for this season but his contract is up in February.

we were paying 4.3M to miles, 1.5M to cam, and 1.3 to Aranda.

we can pay Orgeron 3M, Aranda and Lane both 2M, and still come in under where we were, with no new buyouts.

theres no way bama matches 2M for Kiffin when they already have Sark on staff.

Never has beating three teams with a combined 9-9 record (excluding their games vs LSU) given someone such credit.
I've never once said I wanted him as our coach, but there's nothing wrong with wanting him to be successful. On the contrary, everyone acting scared he's going to succeed and win out should seriously question their fanhood!

If he wins out with THIS SCHEDULE, he deserves the job... PERIOD.

No, not period.

He didn't build this staff. He didn't recruit all of these players. He took over a program that was loaded with talent and needed an injection of excitement.

I won't deny winning out makes him a tier 1 candidate, but it doesn't mean he deserves the job outright.

my man.

Ask yourself a question when considering a coach - is this a guy opponents want me to hire or would prefer we don't hire? As a Bama fan, guys I'd prefer LSU didn't hire (note: not saying "scared" b/c that tired narrative is ridiculous...I'm saying would prefer you didn't hire b/c I think they'd do well for you) - Jimbo, Herman, Fedora.

O isn't on that list. I'd actually prefer you hire him.

It's illogical because insert Herman or Fisher and probably a handful of other guys and they would at least be able to match Orgeron's results for this year. It's really not that difficult what has happened. Aranda has the D rolling, and Les is no longer getting in the way of the offensive game plan.

You just described Miles taking over LSU after Saban left.

Why 3m? What is he providing that he wasn't before that would require him getting more than Aranda or "hypothetically kiffin."

Oh I completely agree. You absolutely can not fire the winningest coach in school history and then promote the fricking DL coach. I will refrain from mentioning his record while at Ole Miss, even. Take that away.

I don't care what he does the rest of the season. Just because he wins out, now all of a sudden he's a better candidate than someone who has actually built a program?

Let the man go earn the right to have a top 5-6 job in all of college football by actually being a successful HC somewhere else.

Did Miles go 0-8 in conference play in his last actual HC position that required maintaining a program?

And let's be clear- LSU should have given that job to Jimbo anyways.

A man who just last year was not considered for openings at USCe, UGA, Missouri, Memphis, Southern Miss, UCF, and fricking La Monroe.

Again, as a fan of an opposing team, I hope you guys do hire O. It actually appears to be leaning that way.

I just don't think any other SEC school would give him so much as an interview, yet some LSU fans want to give him the keys to a top 10 college job. Good luck with that.

no more of a joke than hiring the DL coach

no more of a joke than hiring a guy who was .286 in his last HC position, finishing 0-8 in conference in his last year and only winning 3 games total

Shout it from the roof tops my friend. They obviously won't listen to fellow LSU fans.

Man, he publicly lobbied for the Syracuse job, and DIDN'T EVEN GET AN INTERVIEW. Even though he has coached there previously.
