Shea said baker isn’t getting the Tulane job.

Was this on a paid site? Only asking bc I don’t see anything on his Twitter.

Yes, at which point he would have his pick at P5 defensive coordinator jobs.
You don’t always have the opportunity to ascend, you can always descend. Makes the choice for you.

I'd think either Lane sold BB on returning and parlaying one more big season into a P5 job or tulane wants a little more stability, Napier will take a few more years before he gets called back up.

I'm sure going to miss the third and long completions against our defense.

The second we get a coordinator that doesn’t suck he leaves. I hate cfb sometimes

I've said this in another thread but if he can't maintain what is going on at Tulane then he likely isn't HC material. Tulane is top 3 in the AAC in coaching salary and NIL money.
If he decides to become the Tulane head coach he should retain Will Hall as OC. Will Hall has a good bit of head coaching experience (even if it is at the D-2 and FCS rankings....he bombed at Southern Miss though). Hall was Tulanes OC in 2019 and 2020 and was hired back as the pass game coordinator this season. Hall could pretty much take care of the offense and let Baker take care of the defense.
I'm not saying Baker HAS to hire Hall but it would help him to hire a guy with previous HC experience. Baker should have no problem winning consistently for a couple of years and then land a Power conference job.

Joe Sloan was a hero 15 months ago. Baker would be smart to grab the HC opportunity when available. Especially at a school with G5 resources like Tulane.
