Or even on the Longhorns staff.

(Okay, this might be piling on, but isn't this supposed to be fun?)

Maybe not. But he was good enough to dominate A&M and beat their 1st round QB with gimp Case McCoy in 2011.

Horns always using A&M as their measuring stick. Sad.

So the best coach in America is 30-20 in the past 4 seasons and 18-17 in the 3rd best conference in the nation despite being at the flagship university of the most talent rich state in the nation?

Even if this was said to help Mack seem to go out on a high note, if he resigns, it still makes Powers look like an idiot.

At this point, I really expect to see Texas run Mack off in a pr nightmare, Saban stays at Bama and then we all watch the longhorns go through years of mediocrity after they are forced to hire some mid-major coach.

Vote of confidence? I call it the kiss of death.
It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. However, I wonder if they don't come to terms with Saban, does Mack get another year?

Good luck with Chad Morris.

I'd say the odds of Texas hiring an Aggie as Head Coach are about 5 Billion to 1.

I am starting to think this may be correct.
