I kinda doubt that Clark will ever work for Alabama.

Clark is definitely not a guy that relies on the talent of his players. He is a scheme guy and a guy who gets his players to give a ton of effort. But he can recruit.
He might be a deadly combination with the talent that lsu routinely brings in.

He didn't really have a ton of talent when he first got to Prattville. The team wasn't very good when he first arrived, and they were having fewer than 50 guys trying out for the team (for a school with about 2k students). He quickly doubled the amount of players and did a good job of recruiting players from the surrounding areas (Montgomery and Autaugaville).

I met him at a coaching clinic when he was creating a Prattville dynasty. Very intelligent guy and is a defensive genius. He talked at the clinic how his teams never punted. He figured if your defense is good enough you gain more possessions by going for it on 4th down and putting the pressure on them defensively! Would not be a slam dunk but would be a great hire with 1 mil. a year could start something great here.

I'll take young and energetic with a 2-3 window over a lifer. We need a spark. Plus, he could be a big cog in pulling talent away from Gus and Saban. He is a HS coaching legend in that state, and has flipped every program he has touched.

dont know till you try, but if im a betting man, he would be a strong bet...
personally i would go after Pender/ Durkin/ Schiano in that order, looks like two are off the list...Les may not want to gamble this hire because his job relies on this one...

I do not want Clark at LSU for selfish reasons. Saban should have found a spot for him the day the UAB thing happened.

Yeah, I realize he just wanted a local high school coach on staff. Pruitt took that spot after Clark turned it down.

Don't know much about him, but sounds like a winner, which is much more important than experience.
If him jumping ship is a concern, couldn't we offer a good salary and a steep buyout?
