Locally,

Tommy Krysan was spot on with his claim immediately following the 2010-11 Cotton Bowl that Les Miles had accepted the job at Michigan and LSU had already reached an agreement with Bo Pelini to be the next coach at LSU.

I love how half of Michigan fans say Miles was ready to accept and the other half say he never got an offer.

He got an offer the first time. Not the second.

You got it backwards. Lloyd Carr blocked the Les Miles deal in 2007. In 2010 Les was much more marketable, but he was going to stay at LSU.

The story in Baton Rouge was that Miles or his agent was trying to arrange a meeting with Michigan, at the same time LSU was working on a new contract for him. But Michigan was dragging their feet a little bit with the meeting. When Herbstreit went on the air with his report that Miles was leaving, that caused LSU to hurry up and get the framework for the deal reached. Think Miles was also pissed because he felt someone at Michigan hung him out to dry.

The second time around, the word we had heard over here was that Miles was the top choice for the Michigan job, Brady Hoke was the second choice. Miles wanted to stay, but he wanted reassurance that if he turned down his dream job, LSU wouldn't fire his arse three years down the line if the Tigers ended up 7-5 and headed to the Independence Bowl.

Ya. Herbie went public with the info and forced Les' hand because of the timing.

I guess that makes it more plausible. I just don't understand why if someone wanted to be elsewhere they would decided not to go for a reason like that.

Naw, read 3 and Out

no offense...but that book is just a little biased. John Bacon is not going to write anything that makes Michigan look even the least bit negative in any way

Remember laughing at that dumb son of a bitch as it was happening.

Pelican has the crappy tv graphics for it and everything.

Not football (IDGAF if you care), but Billy Donovan to Kentucky was a huge arse media snafu. They even announced it on the news in Louisville and Lexington prematurely. I never want to hear the words Done Deal again.

WTVY in Dothan broke in and said they had confirmed that Steve Spurrier was accepting the Alabama job based on a radio station in Cullman.

ABC Sports with Vermeil going back to the Eagles. At end of Sugar Bowl Brent was almost crying and giving Vermeil all kinds of good luck as he returned to the sidelines.

No.

Les was offered following 07 season, he was never offered after RR got canned.
