Best recruiter out of the list of coaches?

Riley- Does not recruit defensive talent. Has never had a Top 5 recruiting class at OU. Poor roster management if you look at who he signed and who stayed. Produces NFL QB’s and Lamb… that’s about it (has only had 7 defensive players drafted since 2017).
Fisher- He gets props, he’s been building A&M steadily. Potentially a really big class this season with Walter Nolan and others. He produces NFL caliber players.
Aranda- Many say his time here that he recruited poorly (missing on E. Cooper). He definitely developed LB’s better than anyone in recent memory. Not sold he can produce top 5 classes at LSU.
Napier- He is a big fish in his little sunbelt pond, which he respectfully dominates in recruiting. Follows Saban’s model of recruiting. Heard him say recruiting is the foundation everything else is built on. Not much else.
Tucker- It’s been impressive what he has done with the amount of transfers he’s pulled in. Has MSU ranked 17 nationally this year, after they have been ranked 46 previously. Pulled in a nice list of 4 stars at CU before bailing (previously didn’t sign that many).
Throwing money at coaches don’t make them better recruiters.

What exactly is this model? Describe it to us. What makes it different than other coaches recruiting models? Go get the best players to come to your school? Saban and Alabama don't need any special strategy to draw in talent at this point. No one cares who Billy Napier from the sun belt is.

This is just a universal truth in college football. Not a unique statement in the slightest.

Fisher is without a doubt the most proven and consistent recruiter of all the possible candidates
Not saying I necessarily want Jimbo, but his recruiting is very very good.

You’d think for someone with the handle HotTakes, he’d have more than just cold takes to provide.

You typed that pretty message, you can look up what the model is sunshine.

There is no special model. Napier isn't a big name nor a notable one for big time recruits. The constant Napier/Saban comparisons just makes it clearer the guy is massively overrated.

Just like throwing money at Riley isn’t gonna make him start having defensive talent or top 5 classes.

What does this have to do with the constant Napier tall tales and comparisons to Saban? Riley is a proven name in college football at a top program. I trust him to shore up any deficiencies before I'd believe Napier is in anyway like Saban.
Riley would blow Napier out as a hire. Not even close. Younger, more wins, experience as a top coordinator and top HC, recruited well, won conference championships outright.

I'd like a coach that can actually evaluate character and not just offer every 5-star mentally deficient idiot out there.
Getting a 5-star doesn't help if they can't mentally hack it or check out the minute adversity strikes (see every LSU 5-star). A hard-working, intelligent 4-star is much better for the program than 10 Arik Gilberts.

So Riley is failing to recruit at an elite level but still has his team in the CFP every year? Sign me up.

Stop thinking subjective and more objective. Honestly, Jimbo is the best recruiter out of all of them. Maybe Tucker at 2 because of what he has done? You’re a Riley fanboy with blinders.

I mean sure get to the CFP to be blown out, plays in a weaker league, and narrowly gets in… just make sure to read the contract where no bitching is allowed once you get your choice.

UL Recruiting Finishes:
2019 ... ULL < 1 pt over Troy
2020 ... ULL < 1 pt over Troy
2021 ... ULL < 3 pts over App St

ahhhh, the ole "Aranda can't recruit" narrative

So going from an .8001 in 2019 to a .8353 2021, taking a team that had been historically bottom feeders in the SBC and turning them into the #1 recruiting team 3 years in a row, and signing recruits you previously had no business signing isn’t impressive?

It's funny how all the negative things said about Aranda, true or not, stick to him like glue every time he's brought up but everything good about Napier sticks to him and even transforms into even more grandiose descriptions. Like there's a push to shove down Aranda for the sake of Napier.

Another lie. ULL had 2 9-win seasons in the 5 years before Billy Napier arrived on campus. Yes, they ultimately vacated those wins but the cupboard wasn't bare and overtaking the sunbelt isn't that tough. Even now that he is recruiting well for that school he still has yet to outright win the conference or dominate on the level his talent level would allow.
