BelowPar: Les to Michigan 2007 question...

Also, would you please inform everyone that Les was not offered the UM job in 2007. Some people are under the assumption that he turned them down. Lloyd Carr would not allow Les to be hired in 2007.

Yeah, I don't think he was ever offered in 2007 (and belowpar I believe confirmed this), but I do think Miles was offered this time around. For a while I thought the whole Michigan/Miles meeting was a sham to appease the Michigan fanbase, but I've now talked to a couple people and believe he was definitely offered about the same at Michigan that he makes here.

I talked to George Bass about this a couple of years ago. He basically told me that nothing happened with Michigan and that Les had already decided to remain at LSU before the fiasco even started.

ETA: I'm being serious.

Secondary question ... Anyone know how Schad got the info this year of "Miles will accept if offered"...

Belowpar DID say this was what happened. He deleted his post but someone had quoted him on it so it still can be found. I just read it 2 or 3 days ago.

With the state of the program, I hope that group wouldn't have the same pull. The whole Lloyd Carr group is tanking their program.
