Barry Alverez vs Joke Alleva

Wisconsin lost Bert before the Rose bowl one year to Arkansas and Alverez had to be the interim coach in the Rose Bowl.... still made a great hire (Gary Anderson) after the bowl game!!! Then Alverez again lost his coach (Gary Anderson) at a very bad time and made a quick and perfect hire in Paul Chryst.
I remember watching Alverez in a pregame interview when he came from AD office to be his own interim coach..... he stated pretty much verbatim, "Wisconsin will be fine! I always keep a good list of prospective coaches and a pulse on what we need to do to keep the program strong."
Can you imagine if this happens with our worthless AD? Joke Alleva would probably hire Curley Hallman!

You do realize the reason the coaches keep leaving is because of Alvarez, right? He's a jerk and everybody hates him.

He'd go with whatever name came up with the least amount of effort put forth. Aranda or Frank Wilson.

They leave because Wisconsin refuses to pay worth a damn and the assistants turn over like crazy.

Chavis left LSU because of Joke.
Wisconsin does not pay well is the problem more than Alverez being a jerk. If Joke had the same budget constraints we would have a coach promoted from the local POP WARNER or PeeWee league.

I'm willing to give O a try(wanted Herman), but to watch the games today, was to see the anti-Alleva..
PSU and VT and even Fla(arguably via 2 straight SEC Least crowns) all ahead of rebuild schedule..Franklin, Fuente, McElwain.
Hoping for Dabo 2.0!

This is categorically false. They leave for one reason only - $$$. Wisconsin is a great school academically and they actually pay their progress it's. Unlike LSU their AD budget is not separate from the schools budget.

This and Alvarez robs the athletic department of like $700,000 whenever he appoints himself interim coach for the bowl game.

Same here.... hoping for Dabo 2.0.
But highly unlikely given O prior head coaching performance at ole miss.
He will be purely dependent on coordinators..... that is very scary! Usually successful head coaches are strong on one side of the ball. I have a few pretty good friends who are coaches in the SEC and they all say O is a great motivator but terrible X and O guy. That was his downfall at ole miss. He supposedly has learned to let his coordinators do their jobs. We will see.

Alvarez is a dictator of that athletic program. Everyone there hates him

I know for absolute fact that Chavis left purely due to Alleva. Yes very good sauces on that one!
Same very good sauce told me O is terrible on X & O's. Great at teaching line technique, motivating and recruiting.

I'm just curious where this comes from? I know 2 former Wisconsin players and they would run through a wall for Barry Alvarez.

What do your SEC coach friends have to say about LSU hiring O as head coach?

Very good friend of mine played and coached with Gary at Ricks Colege and Idaho State. They still talk once a week. He said that Gary left after one year because Alvarez was literally impossible for him to work for. I don't have a dog in the fight just passing on information

Honestly, they feel he can be very successful if he has learned from the past and will let coordinators coach. They think he will be very dependent on they quality of coordinator he can attract and retain. Much like any coach..... but more so because he is not a great X&O guy in any one thing.
The few coaches I know like ED a lot...... just kind of surprised LSU went this route.
I know....sauces....lol
