Bama should be realistic and hire a bridge guy.

They would be setting someone up for failure. Someone like Locksley, Drink or even O’Brien could coach for 4-5 years and be decent. It won’t live up to their standards but they will win a little and keep some decent players coming. Fans and booster will get them fired and then they go get someone who they really want. Someone who can build the program as their own without the shadow of Saban. Almost like a rebuilding process. They just have to suck it up.

I think Urban Meyer is that guy. 3 years or so until his health fails

The fact that Saban is going to have an office inside of Bryant Denny is just a hair intimidating. That’s not a shadow, that’s a dam elephant staring at you

You know who would be the perfect fit for this? Logan Young. Oh wait.

I’m sure that’s what you would like.

This was my exact thought.. No way in hell if I'm a coach that's winning at a school and getting paid well would have any desire to go to Bama and follow Saban.. The next 10 coaches will never fill the unrealistic expectations there..

That's an incredibly bad idea.

Hire Rees. Give him a decade and he'll grow into the gig
