Umm no, Austin is on Scott Woodwards staff not BK staff, he would have literally zero say to fire Austin

You don't think Brian Kelly would have any say over the football program's general manager position?
Come on now.
I'm sure Thomas, Mason Smith and the recruiting and personnel staff have been working closely with Woodward since Orgeron got fired, but those guys all ultimately report to the head football coach.

As LSU’s general manager, Thomas will work directly with Orgeron on the day-to-day operations and management of the program
Woodward isn't involved in the day to day management of the football program or scouting and roster management.
I assumed Woodward was heavily involved in bringing Thomas back from A&M, but even if that's true, it doesn't mean he's untouchable.

This could've been discus before Kelly was hired.

He was an Ed Orgeron guy before he was a SW guy.

If BK hates recruiting… Why would he fire the guy essentially that can recruit all the time?

Gonna need some receipts on BK hates recruiting, hard to believe he doesn’t kill it on in-home visits.

Whatever Coach Kelly wants to do with this staff is fine
He’s the coach and a damn good one. He doesn’t need Woodward to hold his hand unlike the last coach

Austin worked as Woody's assistant AD at A&M. I was told that when Woody hired back here that he reports to Woody but works day-to-day with O and staff.
These responsibilities might be changing with BK here and the people he brings in, IDK. I've seen where Beth Rex is coming so I guess we will see.

But, But, But, Lloyd and Jordy said Austin Thomas and his plugs were untouchable.
