Source: Florida State is hiring Auburn OC Kenny Dillingham as the offensive coordinator. He worked under Mike Norvell at Memphis and Arizona State is considered one of the country's rising OC stars.

weird to me, as Dillingham supposedly was not calling plays

He probably won’t be calling plays at FSU either.

Exactly. He wasn’t and won’t be calling plays. Complete lateral move.

Allows him to reunite with someone closer to his own philosophy at a big program.

Norvell wanted a "yes" man. Norvell got a "yes" man.

So how much does a scapegoat get paid at FSU?

I honestly couldn't have told you the name of Auburn's OC. I thought Gus was the OC and he never hired another one.

Scapegoat? Dude is a fricking great young coach that could run Norvell's offense in his sleep. He also does a a fabulous job with QB's.

Sucks for Auburn that Gus didn't let him coach.

But he didn’t call plays at Memphis right?

No, that's all Norvell.

Him being with Norvell again frees up Norvell to handle other things.

Yeah I really can't believe Bo Nix isn't getting a Heisman invite...

Gus is. Dilly was basically the QB coach.

Gus is a control freak. I don't think anyone likes to work under him with Offensive coordinating or QBs. I'm sure this will be normal, is for guys to rotate in and out pretty quickly. Gus has had umpteen different OC's and yet all of the play calling is identical. Now I know that Gus said he took play calling back this year, but I don't think he's allowing anyone to work a ton with QB's either. I'm sure they get their time with the Qb's when Gus is working on other things, but by and large its Gus's QBs and play calls.

Chad Morris will be a perfect fit. Similar style and Gus respects his opinion.

Clemson was great with him but they've been great without him also. I don't think a failure as a head coach has much to do with being a good coordinator or Qb's coach, so I certainly agree.

Would Gus keep calling plays? Hard to see a high profile offensive coach like Morris not being the play caller
