ANgry Birds GIF. This is why I love the Coaching Changes Board so much. Some you fellows can bring a smile to my face with laughter no matter how I feel.

If they hire Kevin Steele, the AD and AU president both need to submit their resignations within 24 hours of the announcement.

Bruce Feldman is now reporting that Steele is emerging as the leading candidate in Auburn's coaching search.

I can't believe they would do that. In what world would any of the boosters or administration be ok with this?

Welcome to my world when LSU hired O. They aren’t very smart.

Auburn will pay more than $21 million to get rid of Gus Malzahn. This is by far the biggest vacancy that has come open in this year’s college football coaching carousel. Malzahn has been on and off the hot seat for like four or five years it seems.

This isn’t South Carolina. This one will be hard to pass up for a bunch of candidates who have declined previous Power 5 opportunities. There are five leading candidates, all with one connection or another to Nick Saban.

The first is former Saban assistant Mario Cristobal, a hellacious recruiting machine who led the Ducks to a Rose Bowl win and Pac-12 title last year. Cristobal brought Alabama’s recruiting model to Oregon and has cranked up the intensity in the Pac-12. If Auburn calls him, he would have a hard time not listening.

The second is another former Saban assistant, Billy Napier. The 41-year-old Tennessee native is 20-4 in the past two seasons at Louisiana and has done a superb job...

Makes no sense to me. Why fire Gus, and pay that massive buyout, just to hire Steele? Unless there's some info that's about to come about Gus, this is blowing my mind.

No way they go with Steele. Someone at Auburn is putting that out there to distract from their real target

IDK - people earlier in the December like Finebaum were propping up Steele as a HC candidate for various potential SEC HC openings.

I think his stock is higher than the general public believes.

I don't believe it. Ridiculous to fire Gus for him
