by herman and jimbo so they could get big money or raises etc elsewhere.

we at least had the gumption to say enough is enough. the handwriting was on the wall.

jimbo was close to the pinnacle so I understand why he doesn't leave.

the table was set for herman to win championships and become a legend. but apparently that wasn't what he wanted, at least at LSU.

so what else was there? name any other great up and comers who would be a good fit? either by philosophy or by familiarity with Louisiana/SEC?

either take the total unknown or the known. all have pluses and minuses.

There are plenty of other coaches who aren't fricking terrible.

We decided on fricking terrible.

The known is that O failed miserably the only time he ran a college football program and no other programs were lining up to hire him. As an interim coach he's beaten I think one team that finished in the Top 25 rankings. If we're willing to give O why couldn't we afford the same opportunity to one of the "unknowns" who actually have positive records at being a head coach. And as far as philosophy and familiarity about Louisiana and the SEC the last two coaches we've hired were from Ohio and West Virginia respectively and were coaching in the Big 10 and 12.
