Hopefully this helps our chances with getting Tom Herman next year!
quote:
After the Longhorns' 49-31 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, which dropped Texas' record to 2-2 this season, a source told ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy that Strong's job is safe through the 2016 season.
quote:
McMurphy's source added that if Texas continues its downward spiral, "the most likely scenario is that the defensive staff would be sacrificed" in order for Strong to come back next year.
quote:
Texas athletic director Mike Perrin was noncommittal when speaking with ESPN.com's Jake Trotter (via McMurphy). "I'm not evaluating Charlie, per se," he said. "I'm evaluating everything."
Hopefully this helps our chances with getting Tom Herman next year!

LOL good luck w/ that. Strong loses to Oklahoma next week and he's gone. No way are those big $ Texas brokers going to let Herman get away.
"Texas isn’t a patient place, and with LSU already shopping for their next coach, the Longhorn power brokers are likely to be even more impatient than they normally would be. If the money men have eyes on Tom Herman, they’re going to have to make a move soon."

unless Texas has some one they want to replace Strong, not named Herman, then no way they let some one else pry him out of the state.
they will be forced to make premature move to get their man.

Strong's remaining schedule is brutal. He gone.

Eh. Foxsports articles been anti LSU. They posted 2 articles before that with the titles "Reasons why Tom Herman should say no to LSU" and the other was "Reasons why Jimbo should say no to LSU"
I don't think Strong is off the hook yet. They have a tough schedule ahead. The OU game could get ugly but they did pull off the surprise last season.

I think his recent recruiting success is something to think about before going through another overhaul.

In Strong's defense, which is very weak, he is starting and playing nothing but Freshman and Sophomores.
That team is gonna struggle till they become more seasoned.

A vote of confidence is the kiss of death.

It confirms that there is behind the scenes pressure building, otherwise you don't need to give a vote of confidence

Wishful thinking.
I don't expect Charlie to survive the results of next week. I don't care what the AD said.

Strong has the deer-in-the-headlights look and screws up coin-toss instructions AND was shown on and called out on national television today trying to decline a penalty, the action of which would've resulted in an Oklahoma St. first down. The refs came over and straightened him out. That is inexcusable.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that some official, closely tied to the AD and at his direction, for Texas has been in contact with Herman's agent discussing the parameters of a contract with Herman, "Should Texas decide to move in another direction after this year."
I have no idea who is on the Texas short list. And, I have no doubt that whoever is on the list has already been contacted (his agent, not him persoanlly) by TX officials.

I would say that second choice for Texas would be Larry Fedora.

Well, Like Mack Brown, Larry Fedora is coach at UNC.

Is it possible UT boosters could get out ahead of the UT admin and ruin their chance at Herman?

Have you heard him attempt to speak English?
He's retarded.
It's not a matter of talent or "fit", it's a matter of UTx hiring a fricking retard to run their football program. They'll be fine once they get a coach with a functioning brain. There's a ton of talent already on campus and that conference is a joke.

LSU fans who actually think that he'll come to LSU over UT are either in denial or completely delusional.
