Last i heard, on twitterz, was that Arky is hiring one of their own, from within.

And it was a blue check mark peep, although i never believe any of this stuff, till it's tweeted out by mcmurphy/other cfb guys.

Gus Malzahn was able to handle the transition just fine.

I find it comical that some posters on here who claim to follow college football are so ignorant to the actual true landscape of FBS football.

Hugh Freeze went from Arkansas St to Ole Miss.
Gus Malzahn went from Arkansas St to Auburn.
Scott Satterfield left App St for Louisville and will win big there.

The SBC has clearly separated itself from CUSA and the MAC, especially since the last round of realignment. The SBC is closing the gap on the MWC and will likely surpass them in the next 3 years. The AAC will continue to be the best G5 league but the SBC will be number 2 within the next 5 years.

How many coaches want to take over that roster and play Notre Dame, MSU, aTm, Bama, and LSU in the first 7 games next year?

I find this hard to believe. After one of Morris biggest issues was lack of experience, they’re going to hire a guy with little HC experience?

Their schedule in 2020 isn't much better because they get UGA and Texas instead of ND and Tennessee.

They are not good up front on either side of the ball and that won't be fixed overnight. It's a tough sell IMO.

Honestly they need a guy like Willie Fritz. A stable coach who can come in and build a roster for 3-5 years. Fritz is older and looking to cash in. For his last few years as a HC.

Once the roster is replenished then Fritz can move on and Arkansas can look for a more dynamic coach. But they really need a guy who can stabilize the program and build a quality roster and some depth.

Agreed Chew. Fritz has had good success everywhere. Tulane improved a TON this year on offense.

He wouldn’t be a flashy hire. So Arkansas probably wouldn’t go that route. But they are stupid if they don’t realize that the next hire isn’t the guy who gets you to the SEC West title. He is the guy who lays a foundation for success.

Another swing and miss and Arkansas is toast.

Sound reasoning and 100% correct.

We are at the stage where we might have to hire the guy who lays the foundation for the guy who lays the foundation for the guy who builds us up to compete for SEC championships...

The only way it could get worse for them than it is already is if they were to get caught cheating while sucking this bad. If the next guy comes in and sucks then they just have a few more years of sucking to deal with. It’s already a complete rebuild of both roster and culture.
