Arkansas better hire Kiffin before someone else does

He would be boom or bust, but he would definitely recruit, he would get a good staff and breathe some life into the program.

That seems to be the plan as long as the boosters don't frick it up.
The problem last time was we also had to hire an ad, so he didn't have a say in the hiring. Jerry Jones threw his weight around and got us Chad Morris. Jerry's not just content with having a puppet for the Cowboys, so he inserted one in to the Arkansas program as well.
We know Arkansas can hire big names even if they don't pan out, but this is our AD's first football hire. If he's strong enough to tell the power boosters to kiss his arse it will be Lane Kiffin, barring some crazy unicorn hire out of the blue.

This is true. Somehow this program managed to steal coaches from the Atlanta Falcons and Wisconsin in the last 12 years.
I don't understand how. but this happened.
This program most recent early hired a 14-22 AAC coach though so maybe our thoughts that you're hoping for a random Go5 coach are still correct

That hire should have an asterisk next to it. The AD had been fired and no actual AD made the hire for Arkansas. Instead, Jerry Jones did the hiring.
Hunter Yurachek knocked it out of the park with the basketball hire. I expect a great hire here as well.

Kiffin would be a "name" hire. The ship was sunk by Bert and the Morris hire. Our only chance of being competitive in the SEC is for a do over with someone who high school kids have heard of and want to play for.
He's been a Head Coach for the Raiders in the NFL, Tennessee and USC, OC under Saban.
The money is there for him to hire an SEC level staff.
