Actually I've told him/her several times already about this. Generally a very good softball poster, and a terrible football poster.

I'm not unless this is true. What other reason could there be for him to make a "lateral" move? He is already the highest paid coordinator in the game and has the LSU associate head coach title. Why else would he leave?

Listen here all you pansies, and not just talking about you jbrau22, all you guys gaining a vagina over this rumor (If true or not).

This does look bad on O if both coordinators leave at once, however LSU must geaux onward, not cry in pity like some of you on this board. Would I be upset about it? You dam right I would be. However, we move on like many programs do every year in this game and cycle called COACHING, as Wisconsin did 2 years ago... They beat Aranda's & Miles's little asses the following season Aranda left them, and Wisky went 11-1 in the regular season in year #2 this year and narrowly missed the 4 team playoff. That means once his system is in place others can maintain it and beat his arse!!!

2017 Regular Season stats Total Defense:

1. Alabama- 258 YPG allowed
2. Wisconsin- 262 YPG
3. Michigan- 268 YPG
4. Georgia- 271 YPG
5. Clemson- 278 YPG
6. UTSA- 288 YPG
7. Michigan St.
8. Washington
9. Ohio St.
10. Miss. St.
11. LSU- 311.7 YPG
12. Auburn- 312.3 YPG

From above stats, Wisconsin is 50 YPG allowed better than LSU, Aranda's old school and he has been gone 2.5 years ago from that program. It seems they did not cry to much about it as they are outplaying LSU and everyone else now except Bama. Also, it seems it did not take Frank Wilson too long to turn around UTSA and put them in the top 10 defensively, did I say UT San Antonio. And Wilson is an offensive minded coach, but he pressed the right buttons defensively.

So stop whining guys & gals. This is not the end of the world. We need to offer Aranda 2.5 million now and an uncancellable contract or buyout from other pursuers for $5M per year left on it. i.e. if signs a 5 year 12.5 million contract and does only 2 years, if A&M comes calling they owe 3 years left x $5M = $15M (that should be safe). Also give him the tag of next head coach and a bonus of $1.5M if he completes the 5 years. So total 5 years $14M....

If we lose him now to A&M or anyone, then go and get the current Whisky DC, evidently he is as good or even better than Aranda and pay him between 1.5-1.8M and not have to pay him the bank. Or, get another proven guy out there. LSU will be fine because O addressed our Def Line last year and this year, and he will fix the OL in quick time.

I don't want him meddling in too much shite that is over his head, but he is the head coach and I think he learned from his mistake in preparation for MSU and the Troy offense interference. But, he is the head coach and learned from his mistakes because we went on a roll (Lucky roll yes) but got wins over some good teams (Auburn) and out-gained Bama.

If changes are made, he needs to make good picks like the new OL coach and move on. LSU goes on with or without Aranda. I want him here but if not, LSU marches on!!

I’m reading on 247 they made a run at him. A serious run. But Aranda got a raise and decided to stay

I get where this post is coming from. Some of the posters on here are pitiful. However if we lose Aranda we have zero shot at making a run at the Sec title. No way O pulls if off w/o him. I’ve supported O a ton on here but if Aranda makes a lateral move it would make me wander about O’s leadership and the state of the program

No body except the staff actually knows what is going on. Lately, O has been acting real smug and maybe even a little arrogant. Could he be getting overly comfortable and starting to feel untouchable, thus letting the real O emerge?

I don’t think you have to do all that. I don’t think A&M has targeted Aranda. I’m sure contact was made but I don’t get the feeling there was ever interest from either side.

Aranda’s next move is probably to be a head coach.
A&M probably feels they can find somebody on Aranda’s level for cheaper since he’s already the highest paid Asst in the nation.

I don’t think this will be a HUGE splash. I think early in the process that was the thought because I think Jimbo targeted Pruitt. Had UT hired Schiano I think Pruitt is headed to College Station.

At this point I don’t have a clue who we are hiring. I’ll just wait until tomorrow or Wednesday to find out.

Wisky doesn’t lose a step because of the system they’ve had in place for almost 20+ years. They recruit nothing but 3 star players who stay on all 4 years. Their player development is incredible, it’s why they are consistently a top 15 team each and every year and will continue to be.

Aranda is a great defensive minded coordinator, Leonhard is very good as well. He played at Wisconsin, knows the system, knows the players they get and he’s able to use that to his advantage to get consistently good results. Leonhard is in no rush, he gets to comfortably work in an environment that sees his value. Chyst and Barry aren’t going anywhere. LSU is a much different story with O and Alleva at the helm. There’s a good chance neither might make it in 3 years, doesn’t matter how much money you offer some people want stability.

I don’t think it would be as easy to snatch Leonhard away as Aranda because Wisky is his Alma mater.

No they didn’t. Did you watch football this year?

How many paint chips did you eat as a kid...seriously

You say he’s replaceable (which I agree with), then suggest offering he highest paid coordinator in all of college football a 40% raise. Then you expect that guy and his agent to agree to a buyout that is double his salary, per year? With a shrimp boat captain as a boss? C’mon man.

Yes yes. But what is the point of freaking out about something that has a very rare chance of happening? Now if the rumor was "Aranda to the Green Bay Packers has legs", that would be something that could definitely happen. The OP original post was O needs to be fired, which from according to a lot of people on here is a legit poster is kinda messed up in its own right.

Hypothetically if he were to leave, LSU needs to throw the bank at Venables and if not him you go to Bud Foster at Virginia Tech. V Tech doesn’t have the best talent but Foster has had them top 10 defense for like the last 4-5 years and that’s including scoring defense , yards and they’re number 1 with 3rd down conversion defense this year . He brings a lot of pressure which would go perfect with the way our corners play man.

if Aranda does go I would have to see what TAMU is paying him before I blame O. They’re paying Jimbo 7.5M for 10 years; if they end up paying Aranda $3M or some other ungodly number then it isn’t anything to do with O it’s just money which they have a shitload of.

So we made Aranda the highest paid assistant in the country but didn’t draw up a contract keeping him from coaching in the SEC West? Ol Joe cutting up again
