Same downside as Tucker. Neither have enough years under their belts to deserve a promotion yet.

Big names: Jimbo, Dabo, Riley

If we don’t get any of those, Tucker, Aranda, Napier.

What is the downside?

Low energy. Bad cultural fit (regionally). Specializes in the wrong side of the ball.

The downside of Aranda is that his personality isn't conducive to being a head coach

His personality fits a HC, maybe not LSU HC.

I could agree with that. Probably not a good fit at most any SEC school, but would probably do well at Vanderbilt. Obviously is a good fit at Baylor.

We had the complete opposite of this for a while and look at how that turned out.

Could have made the same argument about Saban when we hired him, and Aranda fit in fine for many years as DC.

Just like the coaches of the two top teams in the SEC at the moment, Saban and Smart.

O ... high energy (will fight everyone)
O ... perfect culture fit (for the fanbase, state, region and country. Not for the team.)
O ... No specialty on either side of the ball.

Rehire O. Pay him $10M this time. Checks all the boxes.

Don't ever change.
