I don’t know that it’s that crazy to think he would pick Florida.
It is crazy to think his ex father in law being a QB there would be an influence on his decision

Are you legitimately trying to compare Los Angeles to fricking gainsville??

To be fair, Riley really likes jorts.

Sigh. I probably can't convince you that a much larger school with a much larger donor base with far more capital available in a state with multiples in untapped capital vs. Louisiana/LSU has more upside and resources to exploit.

But alas, it does. And I would certainly argue it matters.
I mean I guess the potential for UF to be a bigger and more profitable program is true. But the fact remains that LSU football and the LSU athletic department is wealthier.

LSU athletics also received more donations than UF athletics by a pretty wide margin

LSU has a frick ton of money. There's maybe 6 or 7 schools in America that will put up the money LSU boosters will put up, and UF isn't one of them.

I think the idea of LSU being the better job defies the average CFB's fan's expectations and is a diehard CFB fan (ie, us) and media narrative. I think it's true, at least for now, but I think it's a bit of an inside baseball thing unless you poll SEC fans on message boards or CFB writers.

Most "casuals" would probably assume the richer school in the richer, bigger state is the better job, but maybe I underestimate them.

I just whole heartedly disagree with this. LSU, for good reason, is perceived as a better program than Florida.

I don't think any "casual" fan looks at the state in terms of what type of job is better. Would a "casuall" fan assume that UCLA is a better job than Alabama? Or the Colorado job is better than Ole Miss?

I don't think there's a coach in America that truly feels that the UF job is better than the LSU job, and that sentiment has been echoed all throughout the media since these jobs opened up.

If and that’s a BIG IF Kiffin leaves Ole Miss it’ll be to LSU plain and simple. He’s not going to UF over LSU get real.

Don't be so sure if that's true.

I agree that lane is going to want nil and control over it. Also if that's true florida will give him more years on a contract at 13 or 13.5 with plenty money for assistants.

It seems they have already been talking to him. Now if lsu gets in on kiffin and offers the same terms and convinces him then yeah would probably pick lsu.

Lane at Florida or lsu is scary.

The reason why he would go to either school is because Ole Miss can’t or won’t guarantee the level of institutional spending Lane desires. Nobody knows the true appetite of Ole Miss donors at this moment in time. Both UF and LSU have already proven this is not an issue for them

Lane has spoken about institutional alignment constantly. He has that at Ole Miss. Florida looks to be a much more stable situation than LSU

Kinda sad the ole miss fans can't understand this. Imo if he stays at ole miss they will bump his salary but it will be more about not wanting to move. Cause he is constantly bitching about portal money and nil.

LSU just waved the white flag on any big name hire. We are definitely going as cheap as possible
