Yea yea I know they're buds and O is probably telling him that he will have free reign and it would be more of a collaborative working relationship.

But still, Kiffin has an ego. We all know that. And up until now O has never been the boss and Kiffin the assistant. It's been the other way around. I wonder if Kiffin is just used to viewing himself as the one in charge in their relationship and having that arrangement upended is uncomfortable for him to realize.

No. I think Lane really wants a head coaching job and he is going to hold off on accepting an OC job until he knows being a head coach isn't happening this year.

After working for saban, I think he's looking forward to it.

Do you enjoy working for a boss you're smarter than?

Over it already, this hire your buddy system didn't work with Miles! Right back to doing it again and it's already hurting us with recruits

He's been working for Saban. O will likely give he free reign to design the offense. If he succeeds he gets all the credit and a HC job elsewhere. I don't think comfort is an issue.

Ive said this a thousand times... The only reason we kept Aranda is because of money and not a good time to leave for him. he still needs 1-2 more years before the NFL comes after him.. no reason to move and he can just stuff money into savings..

This is what people didnt think about when O was hired.. he is perceived as a failed coaching hire.. you can throw all the money in the world at guys, they have huge egos, they wont want to work for a guy that they think they are smarter then..

and the OP is right.. Kiffen was his boss at USC, they the hell would he want to have O as his boss now?.. It makes no sense to me...and it never has..

Yall really need to look at Canada's numbers in more detail before you blow your load on him too.. His passing offenses are not very good.

The guy I feel we should get should be helfrich.. i dont think he is in any hurry to have another head job.. And recruits in LA want to play in an exciting offense such as his..

Absolutely. Have thought it since O was announced and Kiffin was rumored. It's got to be extremely uncomfortable to suddenly be the subordinate to someone you employed not once, but twice.
