I just want someone really hungry with fresh /adaptable ideas. I don’t care if they’re 33 or 55.

I can say at the time I was underwhelmed with both hires last year in Linehan and Pelini. I wasn’t pissed or angry. I didn’t rant on here but they both seemed somewhat uninspired after having guys who were definitely ascending the year before.

Hell I don't really know.

Offensively, I know conceptually what is best but it doesn't seem that any of those guys are available for some reason.

Defensively, I have no idea what we are even looking for. Not sure if Orgeron even knows. Mason is not even what O wants (2-gap DL) in a DC and he is one of the leads.

I thought Pelini was a solid hire, so I'd suggest that everyone pay close attention to my assessments of any and all OC and DC candidates so you can be sure to have the opposite view.

Umm, the best OC would be Brady and the Best DC would be Aranda. I have an entire season of football to prove it.

The best dc is marcus freeman.
Checks every box

Smart. Runs both 3 and 4 man fronts
Players will relate and love him.

Oc is harder because no one knows if they want to keep the joe brady passing concepts.

I think russ calloway will be the qb coach with some other up and comer

It's going to be a weird hire no one really mentions

Its about fit and vision in some places but ed doesn't seem to go that far into it.

How does he end up with canada and pelini.
Him and canada butted heads from the beginning.

I have no idea. I thought Canada and Pelini would do well here. I was skeptical of the hype of Joe Brady. So I can admit I don’t know. But on the flip side, Scott Linehan worked out like I thought he would, which is to say he didn’t.

I’m hopeful the new hires will be great. But I’m not going to advocate for anyone in particular.

I personally want O to succeed. I think the vast majority of the fan base feels the same. In order for that to happen, he has to nail BOTH coordinator hires. You have to get two proven playcallers that have been successful at calling plays in the last 5 years. Not 10 years ago. You also have to keep coaches with huge upside like Calloway in BR whether it’s PGC, QB coach or WR coach if Mickey has to take hike, because of the title 9 stuff.

With Terry Joseph’s name starting to pop up, he might be the new Nola guy if Mickey has to hit the road. Just a thought.

Nah, if I don't get my way, I am going to be pissed off until they are fired...

The Rant.

I think most of us realize that we're not the experts, especially when it comes to up and coming names. But that's no reason to refrain from idle and consequence- free speculation.

Yup.
Cause if I actually knew, I'd be getting paid for it.
