Anybody else under the impression Jimbo is just a smoke screen?

Way too much talk about him to make me believe Woodward is hiring him here. Really believe the actual top 3 are Riley/Aranda/Rhule (dark horse candidate, but makes sense). If we get any of those three, will be incredibly satisfied. Geaux Tigers

The most overused phrase on this site is “smokescreen”

I keep seeing “smokescreen “. What is the idea here? Are those of you saying this of the mind that SW is playing some kind of game and putting out false rumors, etc?
I find that weird. Might he have spoken to agents about these coaches and it gets out in some way? Okay. But, the way I read these posts is that it is a purposeful action to throw off……who, exactly?

As much as I hope Jimbo is a smoke screen, it seems like Woodward really wants him.

IIRC, Woody has used “smokescreens” pretty often, see the Mike Bianco smokescreen to then hire jay johnson. Have also heard he will leak false information to certain folks in the building to see who leaks information as well. Smart on both ends as it shows him who he can trust and if it lets out, distracts everybody else while he’s working on his actual target.

Sure... I bought in to the Riley leaks last week. Everybody is a smokescreen for Riley at this point!

Again. Fanfic. Just because someone said ‘Bianco was a smokescreen’ does not make Bianco a smokescreen.
I honestly do not believe for one second that SW gives a sick rat’s arse about smokescreens. It is silliness. The agents know who he is talking to and why. He doesn’t care to fool us. It is not like he is organizing a surprise party. He is a serious dude hiring serious coaches for serious jobs.
