My biggest gripes with kiffin are the gimmicky sideline antics with the basketball rim, the fire extinguishers, the belt to arse belt. It’s all so corny.

Plus the going for it on 4th down on your own side of the field or not just taking the points.

Which isn’t anything major. I think his personality overall would fit well here.

Get ready for less focus on defense, bone headed in game decisions that cost us Ws, and a program with sideline and uniform gimmicks.

We’ll have a good offense and win most games but we’ll shite the bed when we shouldn’t and lose more of the big games than we win.

And does he have the drive to put up with the pressure and win a title after he’s paid that much money? Feel like he’d hate our fanbase and media pressure.

I think I’m just tired of not having a normal/likeable coach at LSU.

I couldn't care less if a coach kicked puppies as a stress reliever....as long as he won big. I'm just a fan. I'm likely to never meet the LSU HC or have any personal relationship with him whatsoever. Thus, I'm not looking for LSU to hire someone I'd want as my best buddy or brother in law. In the end, winning is ALL that matters...whether fans want to admit that or not.

The guy is still dropping petty tweets, trolling people, and trash talking opposing players on a weekly basis. Do you really want a coach that takes literally 50 years to “mature”.

People like the a-hole who is their a-hole. Steve Spurrier was a prior era's version of Lane. I don't think Florida really cared that the rest of the league hated him.

Are we really going to reset the coaching salary market over the guy who lost to Brian Kelly last year and couldn’t make a 12 team playoff with a loaded roster,

The counter to that argument is what about a guy who makes a 12 team playoff with a less than loaded roster? Ole Miss may not have a single top 100 prospect on its roster. Yet, they are a win away from the CFP. Your list of candidates are guys who have done "more with less". But couldn't you argue Lane is doing just that this season IN the SEC?

I never said he was the only problem either. Don't put words in my mouth. I still think we win if he doesn't play because even if he wasn't the only problem he was a BIG problem. How do you not get that?

What LSU needs, and apparently wants, is an experienced coach who doesn't need to learn on the job. They want someone who can step in and instantly have things running smoothly at a high level.

Look at the Kelly situation from a reasonable distance: he went 34-14, 19-10 in the SEC. His first 3 seasons the conference record was 6-2, 6-2, 5-3. He made it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship his first season.
That bought him ZERO slack, he got fired midseason in his 4th year, after a pair of losses knocked LSU out of the rankings and playoff chase. This, despite a buyout of over $50 mil being in play.

In other words, the bar is VERY high here right now. Kelly's record would have been good enough to get an extension at a lot of places, instead he got canned.

You don't bring someone "with potential" into that. You go big-name hunting.

Your original post put the sole blame on Nuss.

Not to mention he wouldve lost to BK twice has Nuss not been playing

What am i missing where you added additional context? All I have to go on is what you typed.

I'm not reading that drivel. To put it succinctly, in 6 years at Ole Miss, Kiffin has 4 10+ win seasons. Prior to that they had 4 10-win seasons in 60 years.

1- I think we would have won if Nuss didn't play.

2- There are other problems plaguing this team.

3- Fixing that one problems doesn't mean the other problems go away, but another outcome to the game could have happened even with the other problems.

This is remedial thinking skills.

They just put 23 points on a terrible Arkansas team. Nuss didn't play and the outcome is the same. Bad offense. Its more on the OL than anything else.

My point is, they did fix the "problem" and the results didn't change vs a worse opponent at home.
