Why are we worried about the offensive coordinator position?

When the program has many much larger problems at hand?

It doesn't matter who the coordinators are. There is a shrimp boat running, rosy finch boy incorporating, finger pointing, tomato paste injector in charge.

But, if nobody can confirm even an interview, the writing on the wall is as clear as day.

GTN says that his source confirmed that Gilbert interviewed. TBL says his info confirms what GTN claimed. Ooops— real media says no interview. GTN claims his guy was mislead. TBL says when he said he confirmed GTN’s Gilbert info, he only meant interest, not interview. Posts are suddenly edited. And TRant takes it, hook, line and sinker. You can’t make this stuff up.... errr nevermind.

Reading between the lines, it sure seems like (and has seemed like for a while) that LSU simply isn't doing anything to find an outside coach.

LSU is still waiting on a coach that is still coaching. Wouldn't you like to have an OC who is coaching an offense in the post season? It explains the wait perfectly. Stop melting.

Unfortunately, following what just happened with Canada, I would not want any offensive coordinator that is willing to take the LSU OC job.

Any coach that would knowingly sign on to be micromanaged by one of the least qualified head coaches in the history of college football in not the kind of person I want on my team's coaching staff.

It's not just this forum though. Information is hard to contain. You have potential leaks from LSU, the school the coach is leaving, agents, etc.

If an interview takes place, it usually becomes public and is confirmed.

Unless I missed something, the reports of an interview have been proven inaccurate and we now sit with zero confirmation of even an interview taking place.

The fact that hiring Ensminger makes no sense for Orgeron (even from a completely selfish standpoinrt) does give me pause. This would go down as his biggest misread on a situation, IMO. It will ultimately get him fired. And, I think any competent administration might consider firing him this year (Aranda) if Orgeron submitted a request to promote Ensminger.

Nonetheless, all signs point to nothing going on.

That photo makes me laugh because it is so hilariously Beta.

No fricking Alpha male would let a publicity photo go out of him looking like Alleva's boy.

Shouldn't this be no interviews have taken place yet or as far as we know. Your statement makes it sound like they have made a decision and they did not interview anyone. While that might be the case, we really do not know yet. We may know that so far they have not interviewed anyone but do we really know if they have made a decision.

He said "it appears". What more do you want?

Would it be possible that they could have interviewed someone or are interviewing but we would not know about it? Would that be possible to pull off?

I think it would almost be impossible.

I guess that's plausible. Obviously, we'd be talking about Sarkesian here. I still don't understand why/how that information would be so impossible to confirm though.

Is sarkisian even an exciting hire? He’s taken one of the best offenses ever and made them perfectly average.

But still, is a sitting NFL OC for a playoff team going to take a step down? Why?

The Canada situation was bad. But, LSU just gave 2.5M to its defensive coordinator. Presumably, LSU would be reaching out to a coach in an attempt to find someone who can run the show. And, obviously, its going to pay well.

I think you are way off base in worrying about the Canada situation. If anything, an incoming coordinator may have an issue with the potential longevity of Orgeron as head coach.

The answer was because he probably wasn't going to be retained because:

Right, but I don’t see the falcons opting for a 3rd OC in 3 years right in the middle of Ryan and Jones’ prime. The fact that they’re now making a playoff run further solidifies that.

How do you know this?

Why do you put stock into this rumor but not others?

Except they lead the nfl in third down conversions %. And have over 30 dropped passes on the year, highest in the NFL. Compared to like 10 from last year. 8 of those drops lead to INTs. Another 5-6 of those drops were TDS. That on the OC?

I'm not saying it's on the OC.

If I'm wrong about how Sarkesian is viewed from within the organization, so be it. Reading between the lines, it sure seemed like it was a marriage that wasn't working.

As a Saints fan, I've noticed a difference in their production.

O doesn't micro manage Aranda so why do you think any and every OC that comes in the door will be micro managed by CEO. Do you think that is what he wants to do is have an OC he has to micro manage?
