Herman wanted Texas. All LSU would have done is waited to be told sorry Texas is my top choice. He was a rent a coach. He eventually would have left even if hired.

frick Alleva. It is Hermans agents job to entertain Texas interest and do what is best for his client (more money). If Alleva gets his panties in a wad he is in the wrong profession, since Herman called at 5 this morning saying for 6 million he's ours makes me believe he wanted us over Texas.

If all of those things about Herman are true (politics at UT, best conference in the county), then why did he even entertain the UT job?

Stupid to pull the offer. Alleva doesn't know how Herman's meeting with UT would have gone. Herman might have said thanks but no thanks and called Alleva back and said I'll take the job. Its not like O was going anywhere...so stupid

Don't have to get in a bidding war. If Alleva was unwilling to budge off an amount then thats fine and if UT paid more then no harm done. But to just pull it without letting it play out was moronic.
