Rhule because he is a younger version of Kelly with even more of a ceiling of being the “next” coach in college football at the right program

I got nothing.

I don't think the coaches I'd rather have would ever come here. In fact Brian Kelly was in that group that I thought wouldn't come here.

At least this guy is honest

Y’all were Nantucket sleigh riding all weekend then melting when Kelly came up as a possibility

He is a good hire though

Saban or Urban are the only two guarantees. Would have been happy with Riley, but I think in hindsight, when I take away my hatred of Notre Damned, prefer BK to Riley.

Sexier hire? Riley Safer hire? Kelly

That sums it up. Kelly was a huge hire, given the status of the current Notre Dame job. ND has been a force the last 5 years with a legitimate shot at the CFP again this year. Saban and Smart, which you weren’t ever going to get, are the only others.

Aranda, but I love the hire. I also think Napier would have been a great hire & great recruiter in LA, but think BK is less risky. Aranda is worth the risk IMO.

I'd still rather take a chance on Aranda. I know it's a risk but if it paid off, it would pay off big. That said, I don't dislike this hire. He seems like a no nonsense kinda guy and that's a welcome change of pace. He should also bring some much needed stability.
