This is gonna be between Auburn and us. In the end, we offer the best situation. He will be HCIW basically and be able to start building towards that 3 years in advance. Spurrier clearly doesn't have much time left and it's established the two are good friends. Coaching for Spurrier still has clout and I think Boom will take advantage of it.

I am not sure A&M will even offer him more money. Auburn was paying Malzahn 1.3 million per year to be the offensive coordinator at one time. We were even paying Ellis Johnson $800,000 for his crap defense.

Are you kidding? South Carolina is going to offer their head coaching position to a guy who was a failure at a better program.

South Carolina giving him a HCIW position seems like a good deal for him and a gamble for South Carolina.

As if he is incapable of learning.

I started to ask you to list all the coaches who were failures at one program and then became successful at a lesser program, but I am hesitant for two reasons:

1. I am not sure you are serious

2. The list would likely be non existent anyway

He'll get assistant head coach, not head coach in waiting.

Head coach in waiting doesn't exist anymore because it puts the same recruiting limitations as the head coach on the head coach in waiting

What you say is true, but Rich Rod was also fairly successful at WVU before going to Michigan. Muschamp has no history of being a successful head coach at any school

Especially since Summy is on the hotseat. He goes 7-5 next year...he gone.

They are paying Sumlin 5 million

To be honest, it's way too much relative to what he has delivered.

Maybe aTm fans realized that 3rd place in the West is their ceiling and averaging 8 wins is the best they can do and they're willing to pay 5 million a year for that?

Seems as if the AU mods think Muschamp to AU is likely.

I'd wait to check the barometer until after he comes back from the Caribbeans.

From what I've seen, the deal may have been in the works a early as a couple weeks ago.

- but I literally know nothing from "insiders", honestly.

Oh I'm sure the deals are being worked on and possibly have been for a while, but I think Muschamp is letting his agent do all the work and I doubt hes gonna make a decision in the Caribbeans.

I'm thinking he told Sexton to get him the best deals he can while hes at the beach and he'll decide between aTm, Auburn and USC since it seems the offers are gonna be the same

Muschamp is going to South Carolina

HC is waiting and DC. Spurrier loves Muschamp and will give him the keys.

Sumlin's offense had less than 20 minutes TOP twice all season

Wait, you are touting that as an accomplishment? TWICE?

No he's responding to the idiots claiming A&M averages less than 20 minutes of total possession.
