I spoke with my best Muschamp source today and they were not as steadfast that Muschamp would not come to South Carolina.

The idea of being the head coach in a couple of years, combined with Spurrier's public statement saying he will stay is a positive for the Gamecocks.

I hear Auburn is going to offer $1.5 million for three years and the Gamecocks are expected to do the same, but we will see what happens.

I do think that of the three programs- South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M- that the Gamecocks and Tigers are the two most likely.

I could see SC, but with the AU connection... I just don't know why he'd go SC.

Because the offense tries to stay on the field and he'd probably be head coach in 3 years?

SC only averaged 00:58 more TOP than Auburn this year

He's done the HCIW thing before...didn't turn out too well there

I am not seeing SC, either. No info, just guessing.

He wouldn't get the head coach in waiting title and you'll never see anybody ever get that again.

He'd be named assistant head coach (part of the reason we're willing to pay him 1.5) and he knows Spurrier's contract is up in 2017 with an extension highly unlikely

Would South Carolina give him a specific guarantee that he would become the head coach on a certain date, or would it be a more general just whenever Spurrier decides to retire? That could certainly make a difference to him

I imagine they'll tell him that Spurrier's contract is up in 2017 and thats the longest he'll stick around.

If South Carolina is willing to give him another chance to be a head coach in two or three years, it will be tough for him to turn down.

What on earth makes you think Foster would leave Tech? Especially for a non HC job

No way we get Foster. I would be pumped but it seems like a bigger pipe dream than Muschamp or Narduzzi

I doubt they're telling him the job is his when Spurrier is done. They're probably saying that as assistant head coach he'd have the inside track if he's been a successful DC for 3 years

Sorry dude. Your friend is dumb as shite.

I don't mean to be a dick but Foster has been at Tech since 1987. He was a GA for Frank Beamer in Beamer's first season ever as a HC at Murray State. He moved from Murray State to VT with Beamer. Every year he has ever been a coach, he has been with Beamer. Ever. He has the VT job when Beamer steps down, and that's what he wants.

There is no way in fricking hell he takes a DC job somewhere else.

No, we won't get him

We've tried like twice before I'm pretty sure. I'm sure we tried again and I'm sure he told us to pound sand
