I think i read some where that Muschamp will make 3.2 million next year. If this is true i think he takes a year off

I also think they owe him 6 million over the next 3 years. I would at least sit one year out.

why would Mich State DC go to A&M?

good question, would be career suicide.

A&M should get a up and comer from a mid major.

Yeah if those are the terms of his buyout I doubt he will be coaching anywhere

Venables has a lot of experience, but was his defense any good this year?

I think Muschamp is a "make him say no" idea. I wouldn't expect to sign him. But you never know.

There must be some other targets

Wow, I just checked the stats also, I didn't realize Clemson is number 1 in yards allowed. No wonder he is getting so much run.

I remember his defenses at OU being inconsistent and I think that gives a lot of Ags pause. The improvement he's had at Clemson is really encouraging though and they run an offense similar to ours. They went from middle of the road his first year to tops in the country this year

LSU would be the only game to pad defensive stats with

Also you literally just said we should hire a coach from a mid major

it was. if i were A&M i would look to a young up and coming D/C who has some fresh ideas.

When Saban was first hired at LSU he hired a little known offensive coordinator named Jimbo Fisher from Cincinnati. Worked out ok.

The idea thst people can say a&m competes for a title with the right DC is laughable.

Sumlin has been coaching for too long without ever fielding a good defense to give him the benefit of the doubt with thst statement. I think lack of D is much more of a sumlin problem than people realize.

They might get Muschamp. But muschamp has proven himself as a DC, he needs to prove himself as a coach.

Sumlin is quite the overrated coach. I don't think a DC will fix all of their issues.
