Logically it makes since. Much more so than guys like Lincoln Riley, Dabo or Jimbo. All three of those guys are at big universities that have committed big resources to them. They don't NEED LSU. In fact, I've never bought into any smoke aroudn Riley. He's at a place where he has won consistently at a high level. A place that gave him, as a 33 year old man who had NEVER been a HC the opportunity to replace a long time, successful coach. OU will be in the SEC in a few years. There is no real reason for him to come to LSU.
Meyer on the other hand has a resume ONLY Saban can exceed. He's currently a first time NFL HC and has quickly found out the NFL is a much different environment than college football when it comes to coaching. He's probably already recognized, like Saban did in 2006, he's a college coach. And a damn good one.
The Jacksonville players aren't fully buying into him. The team looks like it is going to remain irrelevant. And Urban probably isn't enjoying being a NFL HC. If he wants to coach again, then college is where he belongs. And if you are a guy that has won 3 national championships you don't want to go to a mid-tier school where, no matter how hard you try, you can't compete at the highest level.
Luckily, there is a job opening at a school where the last THREE HC's have won national titles and who has an AD known for paying insanely lucrative contracts. Urban doesn't want to be in Jacksonville next year. The players in Jacksonville don't want him to be there next season. Seems like a perfect time for him to make an amicable return back to CFB.
