A lot of message board rumors about Texas Tech hiring Art Briles

there was that article posted the other day about how their boosters are looking to push wells out and bring briles in and just by looking at their boards right now, they all seem pretty sure that is indeed happening and the school is waiting for wells to recover from covid to make it happen

i guess they feel like they can whether the storm for the 48 or so hours. whats interesting is that the tech fanbase doenst seem very behind it. might get a schiano part 2

I mentioned this in the Briles thread last week, but he's already 65 years old.
I'm sure there are Tech fans who don't have any moral objections to his hiring, but would rather just avoid the backlash when he may not be a long-term solution, and he's been out of the sport for 5 years.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kendall came with Art as his OC and if things go well eventually take over as head coach.

I'm sure Kendall being a de facto HCIW is on the minds of the boosters pushing for Art.
Wells has been kind of underwhelming, but it's odd to me that Tech people are so desperate to pull the plug on him after only 22 games. It's not like Briles turned around Houston or Baylor overnight, and this likely won't be a quick fix either.
I guess I don't really understand what Tech's expectations are right now.

It’s pretty well documented now that art briles did nothing wrong. He will be a coach again, and most likely next year.

That won't matter to a lot of people. Look at what happened when he tried going to Canada. Hamilton were forced to apologize just for offering him a job.
Anybody seriously considering him must develop a strategy to weather the shitstorm that will come with his hiring, fair or not.
