He can come in and say he doesn’t want one of them. The other 3 are for sure staying

Let’s get TBL in here to compare notes. I’ll bring the popcorn, pun intended?

Says who?

If Vol really knows, then the candidate already signed off on those 3.

Does Thomas count as staff? If so I’d think Raymond Joseph Thomas

Is it common place for the new coach to HAVE to retain certain staff according to the AD? I would be concerned this would scare off a lot of candidates.

So Lincoln Riley says yes to LSU and LSU tells him he can't bring his own OL coach because he has to keep the one on staff.

But he said the new coach CAN say no to 1 of them, meaning the other 3 are untouchable.

Who's to say the new coach isn't requesting to keep those three or four coaches?

I don't think it's obvious that this was demanded by LSU

Do we have a new coach and he is just not on campus? Or am I reading too much into the wording there?

The question is whether or not a coach has been hired or we’re forcing them on whoever the new coach is.

So there has been a hire made for sure it’s just not going to be released until December or later?

Well that rules out Billy Napier since that was the whole reason he didn’t accept the Auburn job. He wanted to bring in his own guys. For the love of God, don’t let it be Franklin

Again, according to what Vol posted, the new coach CAN dismiss 1 of the 4.

That concerns me as well. Not sure a more known/proven coach would be okay with such a thing. Especially a big fish. Well, there goes my Saban fantasy.

Isn't this the very reason Napier was turned off by Auburn?

Makes absolutely no sense. You really think Woodward is going to tell someone like Riley or Ryan Day that If they want the job they are going to have to retain coaches that were on the previous staff? That’s not going to happen

I would hope this is the case. How often does this happen? Especially so early.
