Why is this the case? Do they realize that not even O himself would want that?

A 2 year contract would be devastating to recruiting. That won't happen. We all have to HOPE Alleva fired Les in September with a plan.

Les needed to go regardless of who the new coach is.

While true, you don't fire that guy to hire Orgeron. No one makes that call 100/100 times.

It has been pointed out numerous times what a disaster that would be for our recruits and overall stability, yet these morons keep bringing it up every week.

It's not even a recruiting issue to me(while it would be damaging). Why would you want to hire a guy that you don't think is deserving of a standard contract?

Yep that won't ever happen. No recruit in his right mind would sign with a program in which the head coach only has a 2 year deal, never!

It would be a 5 year $25 - 30 million contract I am guessing.

It means that even deep down inside they are not sure if he can sustain success. They can't get out of the way of their own shortsightedness.

If you're paying Orgeron $5 million a year, you should be fired as AD. You give Orgeron no more than $3 or $3.5 million per year and even that's a reach. No big-time Power 5 program would hire him as head coach so he has no salary leverage.

But you give him at least a four-year deal for recruiting purposes.

He should have had a plan A, B, C, D & E if he has the balls to do this. We end up with Orgeron, then he never had a plan to begin with.

What is O making now? If he gets the job there is no reason to pay him any more than he's already getting.

Yeah this is stupid. Just give O a five year contract and if he starts stinking the place up just can him.

These contracts are broken all the time. shite canning Les, hiring Jimbo or Herman, everyone is under contract.

Give O a five year deal but with a nominal buyout. Not some crazy Les Miles type of buyout. That way it won't hurt if the O train goes off the rails. Just make O's contract heavily incentive laden.

No biggie.

Some dude called Finebaum yesterday wanting to give O a one year deal. Nothing but retards on that show.
