Anyone of a certain age has to sit down and marvel at this if true. LSU nabs a coach from fricking NOTRE DAME?!?!?
Not very long ago, Notre Dame WAS college football. No one approached their legacy and they were treated that way. Not Alabama. Not Michigan. Not Oklahoma. Not USC. Yeah, they became mediocre and can no longer punch through to the top but still, it's pretty heady stuff for anyone who remembers when.

Brian Kelly is a great hire. Had Notre Dame in the playoffs twice and brought them to a National Championship Game in BCS.

Watch his team play, they are very rarely out of position and fly to the ball very much like a well coached Saban team. He has also been killing it on the recruiting trail for ND standards the past couple of years. This is a major coup if Woodward can close the deal.
