11 “active” coaches have beaten Saban

This is going back to his Michigan State Days.
Coaches who have won 1 game vs Saban:
Mack Brown
Kirk Ferentz
Kyle Whittinghan
Kevin Sumlin
Ed Orgeron
Jimbo Fisher
Coaches who have beaten him multiple times
Les Miles* (3 times)
Urban Meyer* (3 times)
Gus Malzahn (3 times)
High Freeze (2 times)
Dabo Swinmey (2 times)
He’s 171-24 at Alabama.
We may need a different criteria for hiring. Because his record vs pretty much everyone is very good

Of the multiple winners - Freeze did it with significant talent gap. Impressive as hell.

Really Freeze and Art Briles would be the only 2 that would keep Saban up at night.

Put them up there because I think Sumlin will eventually coach again and Les hasn’t technically retired. (He did get an *)

That 2013 recruiting class was loaded, it had 5 of the top 10 players in the country. It paid dividends at the time.
Later- Recruiting violations, NCAA sanctions, and vacated wins including one against Bama.
