Yeah, right. Concensus here was that he was on the next flight to B.R. Why would he leave?

Iowa? The best coach in the history of CFB who's only accomplishment to date has been to convince the AP writers that he is a top 5 team this year is going to cruise to NCs? Nope. He will come up short every year.

yes. just doesn't seem right to make fisher one of the highest paid coaches in college football. He is a good coach and a relatively solid hire, but I never thought of him as being some sort of elite coach.

No one knows who wins a championship next out of those two but anyone who would take Fisher as a HC instead of Harbaugh needs to get their head checked. But Harbaugh is not available and Fisher just may be.

I would be optimistic about the future of LSU football with Fisher and he is the safe pick. So if it is him, count me in.

It just doesn't make me feel super excited or anything. But if Fisher can take LSU recruiting to a new, even higher, level then I think we could compete on equal footing with Bama once again with him.

people make him out to be like some kind of ace recruiter so I am hopefull that maybe he can be as successful here as a lot of the posters here think he will be.

Happier to get him than say, Fedora or Mullen who I think are pretty good coaches, so there is that.

Fisher is the ACC's version of Les Miles. The guy has more talent than everyone else, yet drops a few games every year. People keep point to his NC? He Barely beat a crappy Auburn team that could have easily lost 3-4 games that year.......and got the shite beat out of them by Les Fricken Miles.

Jimbo isn't all that.

Meh. I don't want a coach that loses 63-20 despite having a more talented team.

He is a top 5 cfb coach. All of 3 coaches in cfb have a better resume.

Absolutely. The recruiting class falling apart alone can set this program back years, Jimbo or no Jimbo.

O has the sense to hire stud assistants, and can recruit at a different level than Jimbo. But I know I know.......Jimbo is a QB GURU who stacks up QB talent... Yet he's starting a Freshman this year, and getting the poor kid killed.

I was being sarcastic.

How do you know ed will hire stud coaches?
O has never ran a successful offense, defense, or program.

Jimbo has dont 2 of those.
There are literally hundreds of coaches with better resumes and more qualifications than Coach O.

What about Gene Chizik head coach of the Auburn Tigers? Would he be in you top 5 of great college coaches. He won a national championship in 2010.

Maybe we should hire Gene Chizik if winning a national championship is proof of being a great coach or we could just rehire Les Miles.
