This. I started a thread on this book about a year ago. Not too many responses in it but the few who did read it and gave feedback in the thread all seemed to really enjoy it too.

The Harry Potter series.

When I was first dating my wife, she suggested that I read Harry Potter. She knew I was an avid reader, and thought that I would enjoy the books.

I wasn't really interested in reading what I thought was a kid's book. But we were in the early stage of our relationship, and I wanted to impress her.

"Sure," I said, "give me the book and I'll read it."

I finished it in two nights.

"Ok, that was pretty good. Are there any others?"

She gave me the second book.

I finished it in two nights.

"Ok, that was also good. Is there another book?"

I read the 3rd book in a week.

"Yeah, I'm hooked. Let me get the next book from you."

"The 4th book isn't out yet. I think it comes out next year."

"frick!"

Every time you read "The Sound and the Fury" it is the first time.
The actual first time is the worst.
Every subsequent time is better.

I don't want the one I'm reading right now to end - All the Light We Cannot See.

I wish I could read The Grapes of Wrath for the first time again.

I can't think of any. If the book is that bad I stop reading it.

I am surprised some people listed this one. I certainly would not put that book on this list. I thought it was hilarious. Maybe you have to be a New Orleanian of a certain age to appreciate it.

EDIT - Okay, ignore. I paid too much attention to the title and not enough to the question.

Just finished. Brilliant book.
Hoping you won’t feel slighted if I start a new post about it.
