That's as good an answer as any I can think of.

Honestly, though, my favorite books tend to be ones that I struggle with the first time, and that get better on re-reading. Lonesome Dove was greatness the first time through. True Grit falls into the same category.

Yeah it’s gotta be Blood Meridian for me.
I just finished it last week and I’m already wishing I could read it again for the first time.

Also probably 1984.

Both movie versions are outstanding, but unlike them the book is actually a comedy. And it's awesome
