What do you do with books once you read them?

I find myself becoming a packrat with books. If I find some passages that are of particular interest, I’ll make a note in the margin. Many times I hold on to them so I can read again, but I rarely get around to it. I’m always wanting to read something new.

I rarely fail to finish a book I start, even if I think it sucks. In those instances, I have no problem taking it to a used bookstore.

I've worked to purge the books I don't absolutely love. My current problem is tons of books I own but have not yet read. Forcing myself to read through what I own to further shrink the collection.

I try and take care of that on the front end - only books I buy are ones I am very confident I will try and re-read or will be able to pass along to my dad or someone.

Stuff I am only mildly interested in, I will usually listen to or used to try and get that from the Library. Other than that, I buy used and try and give away or donate stuff I don't plan on looking at anymore every year or so.

I put them on my bookshelf. But I just gave in on prime day and got a kindle. It was a sad day but I still have a pretty nice library.

I've been donating them to a local public high school. We live in a very rural area, and the school desperately needs books.

I have a couple extra book cases to store them and a newer bookcase for the new or unread books

Most of them I return to the library. Some I trade at a used bookstore. A rare few I keep.

I have switched to ebooks. I only buy print books if e format is unavailable. So keeping or ditching is not an issue. With that said if it's a great book I kept it and ended up with hundreds of books. I just gave away several boxes in our last move.

Most books I read these days suck.

I put them in a cardboard box along with other goodwill crap and take them once or twice a year.

I honestly don't have room for more books. They ones I keep are old or classics.

The majority of my books are history related, and mostly free online.

I keep the ones I really like and hope to read again and put them on my bookshelf. The others I take to used book store to trade-in or sell.

Also depends on the aesthetic of the book itself. Newer hardbacks, I tend to want to hold onto. Or paperbacks with interesting cover art.

Call me stubborn, but I think reading is magical and staring at a screen does not feel like reading. I love everything about a physical book, especially the smell. I love carrying a book around with me, and I love having books sitting out on my nightstand begging me to read them

Haven’t bought a physical book in years probably. I have two book shelves worth and that’s probably enough. Some signed books from my favorite authors and a few series. Definitely have a few I should probably donate because I have no intention of rereading them.

I prefer reading from a physical book, but if you ever have to move, they’re such a pain in the arse.

I guess this forum doesn't count as reading lol.

I resisted ebooks for several years, but getting a kindle is probably one of the better decisions I've made in the last 8-9 years. While I like physical books, a kindle just makes it so much easier. I can have my entire collection at the pool, airport, doctor's office etc. I read more now because of it.

I hadn't bought a physical book since until I placed an order for a leather bound version of The Way of Kings a couple months ago. The Stormlight Archive is an exception as it's my favorite series of all time.

I keep some, take the rest to a used bookstore for store credit.

I never read more than two books at a time, so that wouldn’t really do much for me.

I keep them. I have a study at home that is cluttered with them.
