Just got done with Alex Garland's The Beach. About a hundred pages into Eric Blehm's The Last Season. It's been a long time since I've read The Beach but I love it just as much as I remember. I recommend The Last Season as well, so far it's really good
I wish there were more books that were like The Beach

Wild Cards I
Reads like classic funny books. I love it. Each story connects just due to being in the same universe, but some do overlap.

Not a big Stephen King guy but picked up Mr.Mercedes yesterday because they are making a TV show and am really enjoying it so far.

The Big Rich. story of the Texas oil barons. These guys had some huge cajones and wild imaginations. Fascinating story.

Went to Barnes and noble Friday since it was raining in Destin and picked up the Switch by Joseph Finder. It's a very fast paced novel that sucks you in. I'm 3/4 of the way through it right now. I recommend it and will be buying more of his books.

The Thomas Sowell Reader
(selections from the many writings of Thomas Sowell over a period of a half century cover social, economic, cultural, legal, educational, and political issues)

I enjoyed the 10/22/63 Hulu TV show and throughly enjoyed the book. I read Mr. Mercedes, and thought it was pretty good. I didn't know they were planning a tv series, but I'm excited to see it.

About to wrap up The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss, the 2nd in the Kingkiller Chronicle.
Trying to decide what to start next:
1) The Gunslinger - Wanted to dig into The Dark Tower before ever being tempted to see what looks like a trash movie.
2) In Cold Blood by Truman Cupote - I've had this one for a long time and have put it off, but I watch a lot of true crime stuff and listen to lots of true crime podcasts, but can I really be a true crime fan having not read In Cold Blood?
3) Devil in the White City by Erik Larson - In the same vein as the above, my best bud in Chicago wants me to read this one along with him and I've always been fascinated by this story. Really wild.
4) Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy - Owned this book for awhile. Only read The Road so far, and after watching No Country for Old Men for the 4th time or so, I wanted to explore more of his works. I hear it's a challenge though.
Any advice?

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those, but I will say that In Cold Blood is one of the five best non-fiction books I've ever read.

Book 1 of the Farseer Trilogy. Just started this earlier this week. Trying to move to something a little more entertaining than what I have been reading.

These are fun reads. Can get a little formulaic after a while though.
I'm reading The Plantagenets by Dan Jones. Really enjoying it.
