The second Twilight book (don’t judge!)
The fifth Harry Potter book
Fire and Blood (trying to go slow, because I’m not ready to give up the Game of Thrones world!)

I'm still working on my re-read of the original Dune saga. I'm currently on Heretics of Dune.

Reading various James Patterson thriller books. Bubble gum for the brain. Quick reads. Little literary value. No intention of reading them all. Never read his books before. Fun way to pass a bit of time.

James Patterson thriller books

the Alex Cross series and the Women's Murder Club books are good, as is Instinct (originally published under Murder Games). One of my favorites of his recently is Black Book written with a co-author.

Little literary value.

He has said he doesn't write literature, he writes books that people want to read.

The Dexter series. Pretty darn good writing and some thoughtful observations and explorations.

Value of fathers in families.

Friendship, love, courtesy, etc. are primarily active verbs and less emotion and feelings. Act like a friend towards someone and you become it out of habitual actions.

Nature vs Nurture. Interesting books.

Currently working on the 5th or 6th Revolutionary War history that I’ve read in the last year or so. It is entitled The British Are Coming by Rick Atkinson, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of the WWII trilogy about the American army. The British Are Coming is Volume 1 of Atkinson’s history of the Revolution. This volume covers Lexington and Concord to Trenton and Princeton (1775-1777) and is very well written. The narrative makes the history “come alive” (trite saying, I know, but apropos in this regard).
