Haha. Yeah, there are quite a number of big differences between the novel and the movie.
And some of the stuff from that novel show up in the sequel films.

I haven’t seen the movies in years but I thought bits and pieces of the novel so far were spread out through the different movies

Just finished Dead Man’s Hand by Luke Murphy and picked up Every Breath You take by Mary Higgins Clark. It’s chick mystery but I really Mary Higgins Clark and this series co-authored with Alafair Burke is really good.

Blew through "Ready Player One" in a few days.
Now reading "The Traveler" by John Twelve Hawks.
It's book one of some sort of modern/dystopian science fiction/fantasy trilogy.

Recently finished two books, both recommended by this board.
Lucky You by Carl Hiaasen. It's the 3rd book by Hiaasen that I've read and enjoyed each one. Their plots have all been similar- the main character is a white dude who gets in trouble in his real job and while solving a problem, hooks up with a good looking woman. The author is a reporter in real life in Florida and I bet draws a lot of his action from crazy things that go on in Florida (which is admittedly a wide swath to draw from.) A modern-day Travis McGee...
Redshirts by John Scalzi. Science fiction tale about crew on a starship who realize they are the most likely to be killed on away teams and the measures they go to avoid and try to fix that. I found it entertaining but it eventually goes in an unexpected direction that I didn't totally buy.

Read it. Could be called "How school won the civil war"
I didn't realize the north had so much better education, and even agricultural fairs which taught new farming methods.
Cool read.

Just finished 1984, it was a very solid book, I loved it. Now reading Count of Monte Cristo and am about 150 pages into it. I hope I'm not overreacting to say this is probably my favorite book that I have ever read.

Citizens by Schama.
Should be read by any serious student of history, revolution, and human behavior.
